Alternate Access
Accessing Salvation's Corner Chatroom via MIRC or PIRCH

MIRC and PIRCH are what are called IRC clients.  They allow you to connect to the Internet Relay Chat just like the Java applet on our website does.  You can access our server using these two alternate clients.  They can be downloaded from the following locations:
MIRC - http://www.mirc.com
PIRCH - http://www.pirch.com

Our server addresses are:
irc.salvationscorner.net
pa.salvationscorner.net
irc.wordalivechurch.com
irc.paradiseyouth.org
irc.powersfamily.org
irc.abcministry.com
chat.abcministry.com
Our port number is: 6667

Our primary chat rooms are the #Lobby, #Help, and our main
ministry channel #SalvationsCorner. We will be adding more channels in
the future. Now the question on your mind right now is probably this -
"How do I get to these channels?"

Glad you asked. If you're using Windows 95/98/NT/2000/ME, you simply
download a program called mIRC. Sure, there are others, but this has
been by far the most efficient and widely accepted. MAC users can download
IRCLE, and Linux users can...well, if you can use Linux I'm sure you
don't need MY help.

Ok, now that you have downloaded mIRC, go to the FILE option at the top
left hand corner of the screen and click on OPTIONS. Once you have
clicked on OPTIONS a box should popup. At the left hand side of the box
there should be a list of OPTIONS to choose from. You want to make sure
the CONNECT option is selected. Once the CONNECT option is selected the
screen should change, and at the top of the screen there should be a
selection that says -ADD, EDIT, DELETE and SORT. You will need to click
on the ADD selection. Once you have selected the ADD option a little
popup box should appear. In this box you should see the spaces marked
Description, IRC Server, Port, Group and Password. At the right hand of
the screen you should see these options - ADD, CANCEL and HELP.

Now here is the information you will need.
Description - irc.salvationscorner.net
IRC Server - irc.salvationscorner.net
Port - 6667
Group - Leave Blank
Password -Leave Blank

Now click on ADD. This will bring you back to the screen you were at
before. You're all set up to connect to Salvation's Corner.

Once you have connected to Salvation's Corner you will need to add our
channels to the channel list. At the top you should see a little yellow
folder. You will need to click on this. A box should appear and it should
read mIRC Channel Folder. This is where you will add all the channels
from Salvation's Corner. In the empty space you will need to type the
channels you would like to join. Those channels would be these -
#SalvationsCorner, #Lobby and #Help. Then you will need to click ADD.

Now that you have added all the channels to the chat client it is now
time to join the channel of your choice. In order to do that you will
have to open up the channel folder each time select the channel you want
and click join and you will be directed into that chat channel. It's that
simple.

Yes, I realize this is probably a 'pain' and that you were hoping you
could just click and chat. You can click and chat on our website
www.salvationscorner.net However, I can guarantee you that if you DID use
a chat program based in this browser, you would probably wind up
downloading mIRC or something very soon afterward, so why not just tell
you now? At any rate, we anxiously await your visit, and can't wait to
talk to you!

If you need any further assistance in downloading or configuring mIRC,
Pirch or any other IRC chat client, please contact us we will be more
than happy to assist you.
